10:00 – 11:30 am or 6:00 – 7:30 pm

Do you want to write for magazines? In this class we will dissect the magazine market, discover salable ideas, and create queries that sell. You will leave with pitches in editor-ready shape to submit. Tricia L. McDonald, Instructor. Cost: $150 (8 Weeks)


My Stories
Tuesdays, September 12 – October 31,
10:00 – 11:30 am

We will use your memories and images to jump start creative non-fiction, and use free writing to unearth those stories that need to be written. You will leave this class with essays in progress, and the knowledge of where to submit them. Tricia L. McDonald, Instructor. Cost: $150 (8 Weeks)


My Stories II

This is a continuation of My Stories with in-class writing as well as weekly outside prompts. Open to all former or current Writing Avenue Students. Tricia L. McDonald, Instructor. Cost: $150 (8 Weeks)

Writing for Children/Youth
Thursdays, September 14 - October 5
6:00 – 7:30 pm

Writing stories for children and “tweeners” will be the focus of this class. Turn your imagination loose to create stories that will bring giggles and wonder to young minds. This class will be highly interactive and fun. Open to ages 10 to adult. Kevin Collier, Instructor. Cost: $150


Websites for Writers
Thursdays, September 14 - October 5
6:00 – 7:30 pm

An introductory class for aspiring writers on how to effectiely use their abilities on the Internet. Includes: How to start your own website, important things to have on it, how to write columns for online magazines, and how to start a blog and display your writing ability. Networking with other writers on the internet and creating awareness for your name on Writers Groups also discussed. Kevin Collier, Instructor. Cost: $75 (4 weeks)
